January 25, 2019 Dear parents, friends and students, You are cordially invited to watch Class 8’s play, Oliver Twist. The play is about an orphan boy named Oliver Twist, set in London in the 1800’s, during the Industrial Revolution. He is forced to run away from the cruel and hard life in the workhouse and travel to London in search of somewhere he could belong. Oliver is welcomed by a gang of thieves which complicates his life tenfold, is rescued by a kind-hearted man, only to be abducted by the same gang once again. This poignant play tells us that light and hope can be found in the direst of situations; that family and good people will lead us to a better place if we take WHEN: Wednesday, 30th January at 6pm – For Kawayan students and their parents Friday, 1st February at 6 pm – For Class 8 families and guests, Class 7 and teachers WHERE: Manila Waldorf School Gym No charge for admission, donations towards costs will be welcomed. Seats are limited so please confirm your attendance to your respective class sponsor. Please note that some scenes are not appropriate for class 6 and below.
